A submission's total score has a "fuzzed" score. This is to make it harder for vote-botters to know which of their accounts are working or not.
Also on the front end if you upvote something it's basically just going to +1 it since your vote isn't calculated immediately but I gotta display it anyway or else people will get mad.
Your submission's actual total_score on the backend is the only thing that matters since that's the only thing that affects "hotness", what it displays on the front-end doesn't really matter.
I've only ever used MySQL and honestly I don't know in what circumstances I should use something else. At least for the projects I've made, I've never run into a problem where I needed to switch databases.
I don't think you could even if you wanted to. In an attempt to secure the source code from outside theft, I've obfuscated it by having all function names and variable as emojis.
Captchas, rate limiters and cloudflare DDOS protection. Also some vote manipulation stuff that I don't wanna reveal since its security through obfuscation.
>Just like how Redditors(not that I like that stupid pathetic site)
I like reddit. I don't think there's any shame in liking something even if the community is cringe. There's just a lot of things I don't like about reddit, which is why I made Mainchan.
this is the type of shitposting that mainchan is all about.

If anyone wants to buy mainchan for 650 million PM me.
Captcha goes away after you gain a bit of karma. Least annoying way to get rid of spambots.

Founder status isn't reversible
I suppose I could make total vote calculation IP based.
I'll look into it.
