Recently read a thread about video games using stock assets. Anything from shovel ware using unity store items, to triple AAA studios including a premade rig from another company. It awoke memories of how some of the most iconic games assets were created for commercial usage often unrelated to gaming as a whole. Anything from texture CDs for 3D models, to music samples and soundfonts. I haven't felt this bothered by the blatant double standard, of companies getting to use other people's work some times without actually purchasing the things others own in their game, much in line with all the label rap that sample other people's work with no credit or royalties. The older I get the more wise I get on the creation of things I love, and the more I hate copyright as a concept.
