Personally, I am more concerned about the consequences of allowing AI to replace our jobs than AI physically killing us. If we develope an AGI which would be able to do all our work for us, what would happen to humanity?
I assume we are going to get something like the wireheading city and a three class society. Everyone will have their basic needs met while getting access to some "entertainment" alongside getting "written off". The select few will of course get to enjoy all the benefits of AGI.
