There is, one feels, something most peculiar about soyjak.party, a rather odd little corner of the modern internet, noisy and restless in a way that never quite captures the old spirit it seems to chase. Once, long ago in internet years, there was the /qa/ board upon 4chan.. strange, yes, but in its own battered fashion rather beautiful, with a sort of shabby parlour charm about it. Then came its quiet purging, and with it the loss of a curious little atmosphere that cannot simply be bottled and poured elsewhere. Soyjak.party, for all its bustle, feels less like the authentic /qa/ of memory and more like a waxwork imitation: familiar in outline, perhaps, yet missing that odd, tender spark which made the original place feel so singular.
