I do have a suggestion. Same as the mock-up I posted earlier, basically. I'm not too sure about the separator, though.

It's a script. I thought you would know. All you need is a script manager like ViolentMonkey to run it. It does this.
It checks for all comments' "data-comment-id" attributes (since comment numbers are stored there) before displaying them right after the datetime. There's a light theme color (#1a825f) and a dark theme color (#00ffab), but I didn't bother making an automatic switch.
I made the post numbers clickable. It behaves exactly like the "reply" button under a comment (which is a problem actually, but I just threw this together for fun).
It's just a proof of concept, really.

Ah. I don't need a script for this. I can just display the post ID in the markup.
But if you have suggestions on things like how the GETs could be displayed, maybe like some rainbow style CSS or something like that, I'd love to hear suggestions!
I know you don't need a script, it was just my local, hacky way of doing it before you're done implanting it ;-)
