Reddit probably won't die because the number of people who rely on third party apps is miniscule compared to the people who don't need them, who, as such, will just shrug the changes off. People know this and are attempting a strike/blackout there, but the duration will be too short and not really change anything, I think.
However, people like me, who mainly use mobile, and refuse to use the official Reddit app, will migrate to other sites like this one.
Reddit will almost definitely die in the future, but that future is not as near as people think.
unfortunately the latter. if they were able to survive one of their staff being a tranny involved in the political campaign of a pedophile, then they can survive this.
It will be a death with a thousand blade cuts, not an instant death.
Im hoping some people will migrate over here…
I am from reddit, currently checking out other sites due to this situation.
This place has a familiar old school vibe.
i agree, reminds me of older imageboard sites.
lemmy.ml is a great site!
Lemmy still needs work. People are joining to try and prep for jumping ship but the current federation setup isn't great.
It's not though, it's full of tankies and commies propaganda
That’s lemmygrad which is a separate site
Nope lemmy.ml is full of tankies, most of the site admins are commies too
What about beehaw.org?

I'm not an alt wtf its just that on steam and twitch I have the name madduckling... What announcement?
I assume the API fees?
Reddit will most likely continue because of their loyal fanbase of soyboys.
Reddit wont die, but powerusers and esspecially the mobile users, who used 3rd party clients will probably search for a new home.
