I'm still doing some localization work, but mainchan should be available in other languages pretty soon.
I'll also probably be switching to cloudflare images since imgur doesn't allow NSFW images and that's pretty restrictive.
And finally I'm reworking user karma a bit. It's going to be a bit harder to get "Founder" status, but it's going to be easier to have enough karma to not get captchas anymore. This won't affect those of you who already earned "Founder".
Also I'm applying for jobs so I can start advertising Mainchan a bit. Speaking of which, anyone need a Canadian Laravel dev?

Any forms of preventative measures in case mainchan ever gets raided by reddit, lemmy, or any other sites that might be hostile towards us once this site spreads to more people? Its happened to a lot of people who build reddit alternatives, and I know that right now we are living in the wholesome, peaceful age of mainchan, before the virgins attacked.
Captchas, rate limiters and cloudflare DDOS protection. Also some vote manipulation stuff that I don't wanna reveal since its security through obfuscation.

Add nested subchans to improve the organization of the site. For instance, if a subchan called "/ducks/" exists, a nested subchan would be a link styled like a post but leads to "ducks/nestedsubchanname/". This prevents moderators from needing to create a post with the title "/nested/ - Nested Subchan".
could you remove the captchas? It's bad enough 4chan has it and if you're competing with reddit why would you force captchas on your users?
you could easily get enough karma to have captchas removed with a few hours of posting
