Anyone have any good book recommendations about southern U.S. history?

Specifically within the timeframe of the establishment of Jamestown to around the 1950s. The subject can be very broad or very narrow, or anywhere in between, I don't mind either way. I'd especially appreciate anything that talks about the Indian tribes in the area i.e. Powhatans, Cherokee, Seminoles, etc.
