Season 6 ends with Cersei blowing up the sept with wildfire and the epic scene of Dany and her armies sailing to Westeros. The show had definitely gone through some decline after DnD ran out of book to adapt in S5 but S6 was the last time the show was able to give me those "feels" y'know? S7-S8 were just horrible in comparison.
