I couldn't care less about images. Why are you boosting certain threads and shadowbanning others? This site is useless if it's gonna be as shitty as reddit.
I haven't done either of those things but ok. I'd need to refactor such a huge chunk of the codebase just to "boost" hotness of threads, and it would be immediately obvious to any other developer that has worked/will work on mainchan.
As for shadowbanning threads, that doesn't exist either. I'm not even sure what you mean by that. Banning users, sure. Banning threads? No. I can only remove threads and it states clearly on the thread page that it's been removed. And unlikely reddit, thread removals MUST state the reason they've been removed (and it'll show in the thread body section)
You can save or screenshot this comment and in the future if Mainchan gets any other devs you can just ask them if that exists.
Explain how is it possible that threads that are both older and have less upvotes/replies, are suddenly back at the top, while other threads that are newer and have more upvotes/comments, can't be found at all. It makes no sense unless someone is manipulating the front page.
Total score is obfuscated. I got this idea from reddit. They do it in order to make it difficult to see if your votebot is working or not. So a given post's total score might be + or - a certain percentage. I also have other methods to prevent votebots but it's better to not reveal how these methods work.
Hotness (the thing that basically calculates total score relative to time created) is based on the actual total score of a submission, not the obfuscated score.
fuck yea
also doggy is very cute 10/10
Finally, I can upload some shitty memes :-P
Using the imgur API, you can now upload images straight from mainchan without having to go to another website!

Didn't mean to reply anon here.
