You could but I think you should just let them know cause it's just better for your own Karma. I've done the just not show up thing and not that it made any real problem but it does just feel a bit cowardly.

Jobs suck but you don't want to form the habit of bailing on things the moment they get uncomfortable. It's good to learn to see things through a bit and get the full picture.just something to think about because we become the habits we form.
I agree with you, I think one of the real issues though was there are the ideals and there are the people and environment to execute those ideals.
I don't think the people with the ideals had it in them to truly execute the communist ideals.
I mean in many cases it did morph into communes that morphed into hierarchical cults, see what I'm getting at?
It doesn't mean that there weren't a few people but the other issue is that of inclusion. America is too rooted in hatred and racism for any such ideals to take root. America is good at the performative aspect but terrible at the substance element.
Culture was definitely not more relaxed that what the whole hippie thing was about, a defiance against the pressures of a society that sold an illusion of freedom but was and is anything but that.
The whole thing still was just an illusion and just became something marketable.
It didn't change the fact that leaders were being killed, black people were being killed and mistreated in their own country.
It looks fun now but it was actually a shitshow that just morphed into the dystopia of the 70's and here we are in the present.
