Yeah, i had similar thoughts. I also get the sense that there might be some weird romantic sub-plot between Helm's daughter and Wulf, which would be pretty stupid imo. Oliphants appearing in Rohan also seems like a weird choice, but it can be justified via rule of cool. Overall, I'm not expecting much from this, but still hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
Honestly, I juts like Folk Music in general. Don't know what you mean by diddley-eye, but if you mean more Irish Folk Music, I really like Clannad, The Bothy Band, and The Dubliners. I'm pretty sure I've posted some music in this sub from these bands before (like Fionnghuala) so you can probably give some of those a listen and see if you like them as well.
I kind of see what you mean, but i think the problem will actually get better as time goes on rather then worse. As the site gets more and more traffic, more people are going to want to discuss things in a more moderated way. As such, they're going to establish their own subs where they can set the rules and control discussion. The problem with most websites that have this feature is that these subs tend to end-up being incredibly over-moderated and isolated from the rest of the website, leading to a complete lack of interesting conversation due to the desire to curtail any dissent. /s/random helps to combat this by being a major sub where anyone can air out their unfiltered opinion without getting banned or having their posts removed. In essence, I think it's catch-all nature is very useful to keep this site from going down the typical path of becoming a gigantic circle-jerk. Of course, most of those benefits won't be strongly felt until the site gets much larger than it currently is. I don't know what would be the best way to handle it up until that point, but i do agree that something should probably be done to help the smaller subs until this site reaches a high-enough user count.
On a Matilda Suspension, yes. Most of the vehicles and weapons in the game are like that, kit-bashed variations of real-world weapons. The Fed's Grumble for example draws a lot of inspiration from the BTR-80, and most of their armored vehicles are also based off of Soviet equivalents. The Lupes on the other hand are more influenced by French and British vehicles when it comes to their own, such as with the Denmother, which is, iirc, based off of the British light tank series.
One of the only positive features that site had added over the years.

Kind of. It's a wargame in a fantasy Cold War setting. You got Werewolves with AKs and chivalrous knights flying fighter jets. It's pretty neat imo.

I tried that to learn welsh a while ago. Didn't really work out for me. What language are you learning?
