And so it begins (not mine btw). Digg has everything going for their relaunch. If they screw it up and somehow don't tank Reddit it's all on them, Reddit is begging to be replaced at this point.
Year that Plebbit will be replaced:
2020
2021
2022
2023
2024
2025
fr fr its gonna happen now guys
Mass migration off of plebbit any moment now. ANY MOMENT. In three...two...one...
no wait, again, three...two...
ok maybe that was a bit too early.
ANY MOMENT I SWEAR
I dunno man Digg is the OG in the space. If they come out with a banging platform I'd expect a significant exodus from Reddit. It'd probably be kinda like "BlueSky vs X" at the start, like Digg stealing a significant portion of Reddit's users but not killing it, just leaving the true believers. If Digg turns out to be awesome though with how enshittified Reddit has become I could see a much bigger exodus playing out, maybe not "Facebook vs Myspace" (or Reddit vs Digg 1.0) but enough that Reddit really starts to feel the pain and their stock takes a big hit. That'd be swell.
Of course this being Hell the most likely outcome is Digg 2.0 sucks balls and Reddit gets even bigger and enforces even more censorship because when in the last like decade has the good thing happened when there was an option for the shitty thing to happen?
I haven't been to reddit in years.
Looks like things haven't changed.
