TLIL (Too Long I'm Lazy): Anyone else using AI tools? If so which ones and for what?

I haven't yet gotten fully into generative AI. I mainly use Perplexity.ai for text stuff and Leonardo.ai for image generation. I've also dabbled in video creation with Runway (Gen 2).

Main reason I'm not deeper into AI is I haven't bitten the bullet and start paying for any particular AI service yet. Once I'm confident enough in my prompting and in-painting skills I'll likely subscribe to Open AI's suite to get going with their image generation, Runway Gen 3 for video (or Sora if it's out by then). Would love to try Kling but that requires giving one's info over to China so no go there. There are also some AI tools specifically for fiction writers that I'd like to give a whirl as I have a script I've been writing for a show and I wonder if they'd help speed up that process or just produce unusable garbage story elements.

What I really want is something like Flux Schnell that I can run locally with my own lora because the nanny filters on corpo AIs (especially the free versions) is too limiting when trying to make imagery that isn't cookie cutter.

Nice. Are you able to run Stable Diffusion locally or do you use a hosted version like something on Huggingface? You mention Automatic1111 so I'm assuming local. Is it the latest version and do you need beefy hardware to handle it?

Yeah I'm on a laptop that was lower end back in 2017 when I bought it. I'd have to bust my desktop out of storage to run gen AI locally I'm jealous.
