Speed limits don't make any sense. Or rather, other drivers make speed limits make no sense.

I'll get on a 50 km/h, 2 lanes and I'm in the right lane. I'll be doing 50 km/h and some SUV is riding my ass for 5 seconds.
Okay no problem, let's go up to 55 km. Nope, they just speed up more and continue riding my ass.
Go up to 60-62 km just to try and get away from this person but nope they just match my speed and continue riding me.
What the fuck am I supposed to do? Go 20 over the speed limit just for a cop to pull me over for speeding?

In the USA, the left most lane is for passing. It's not "the fast lane", it's not for driving the speed limit or 5 above it. It's for passing other vehicles. It doesn't matter how fast you're going, it only matters if your passing other vehicles. If you are passing, then stay in it. If not, then get out of it. A driver can cruise in it if no one else is using it but it is rude af and basically sociopathic for someone to block the passing lane even if they are doing the speed limit. Cops enforce the speed limits, not sociopathic civilians.
A correctly running local government would enforce the passing lane.
Provided the road conditions are good, you should be doing whatever the cops still ignore where you live. In 50 zones that's usually 55-60, in 90 about 100-105. If someone wants to go faster than that, it's their own problem.
