Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey are both super fun. My dad especially adores the first. However, if he only wants to play SNES games or whatever, he'd be better off just emulating that shit on his PC. I guess he could get Super Mario Maker 2 if he likes 2d platformers in particular.
Well we used to play Nintendo 64 together a lot. I went ahead and got him the N64 controller for the system so he can play Banjo-Kazooie again. I guess platformers is what we played a lot of before. I do know he'll love Super Mario Odyssey.
