pretty much by the end of the ps3/360
Perfectly aligns with the Windows 8/smart phone first/flat/corporate era.
after 9/11
ended in 2002 the moment that gaming hit normie overdrive after the normalfag consoles dropped and the race for mass appeal completely overtook everything
I only play EVE online now, modern slop is insufferable.
