We'll just have to cope with it. Technological progress is a one way street meaning that once a certain piece of technology becomes established in society being a productive member of society without it is practically impossible. Take cars for instance. At the beginning they were just a means of transport for the rich, businesses and the government but they allowed for critical infrastructure such as flats, hospitals, stores etc. to be built more spread out so now you need a car to move between them. Same goes for computers, AI, virtual reality or any other piece of technology that is going become widely adopted in a society. The only way out of this is to move to the countryside and produce your own food and other basic living necessities but even that will sooner or later become impossible. To give you an example - here in my country you can't own chickens without them all having leg bands and being noted in a registrar. To do this you obviously need money, electricity etc. And I assume living without being dependent on society will become even harder and eventually impossible in the future. See what I mean?

Yeah, I guess that's what I was thinking too. There's a lot of doomers saying that the world will end because of AI and stuff. I was thinking, what if it doesn't? What if we just eventually incorporate all this new tech into our lives and continue living like we always have?

Us continuing to live on is the most likely scenario in my opinion. Though there's always a possibility of the world ending thanks to AI and stuff. But then again when was that not the case? Humanity has always been threatened by disease, natural disasters and in the past few decades nuclear holocaust and now AI.
