People are so worried about AI taking over the world or whatever disaster scenario they envision with the advent of AGI.

I'm not. Because my days are numbered. I'm FUCKED either way. Medical technology, especially in the fields of longevity, are moving at a snail's pace. In other words, anti-aging tech isn't progressing fast enough. If it did, it could progress FASTER than I age, and its velocity would outpace my aging. But it's not. So I'm doomed to die. My consciousness over forever.

But I don't that. I want to live, and if I ever choose to die that should be my choice.

But AGI, AGI could do it. A being with 10000+ IQ could progress medical technology faster than any human could. AGI is literally my ONLY SHOT at living thousands of years and experience all the things I want to experience.

And if that puts humanity at risk a little bit, so be it. It's not that I don't care about that future of humanity, but what will all that matter if I'm dead?

SO ACCELERATE. DON'T YOU KNOW CHINA OR WHATEVER IS DEVELOPING IT TOO? WOULDN'T YOU PREFER THAT THE WEST GETS THERE FIRST?

CMON DO AGI ALREADY

Wouldn't you just make a copy of yourself and that copy would experience life?

Sorry I didn't read closely enough, I thought you meant "uploading your mind to a computer."

It seems like AI right now is good at imitating but not innovating, so I'm not sure what would come firsts, AGI that can invent new ways of stopping aging, or humans doing it ourselves.

To my knowledge, machine learning is already used in the medical industry in manufacturing drugs, so don't give up hope, just hope that whoever solves aging doesn't monopolize it and sell it at an inflated price.

Better yet, why not die at 30 and let other people take a turn at being alive? Kindof selfish to want to live so long, desu.

Things are betters when you're newer to this world: Video Games, Lust, Love, et cetera.
