Try to be smart about your shilling too, don't just copy and paste the link and say here is a Reddit alternative, check it out. Maybe hire a couple of people (will probably cost you less than advertising on 4chan) to shill for you.
Take a look at the comments in every thread mentioning reedit alternative and you will know that people aren't serious about leaving reddit, they will just look for anything to complain about "oh no it has chan in the name", "oh no there is no mobile app", "oh no there is no content". Just a bunch of faggots complaining about everything without trying to take action and leave their fucking mom's basement.
